Oscar Fashion Faves

           Penelope Cruz is gorgeous. I loved  her retro-inspired updo paired with the beautiful blue Giorgio Armani  gown and vintage114 carat Chopard diamonds.   Meryl  Streep looked exquisite. She wore a Vivienne Westwood gown with jewelry by Chanel.

I am so happy with the results of the Oscar winners. To see their faces and hear their speeches is touching.
My favorite gown was the orange red Louis Vuitton dress worn by Michelle Williams.
Her diamond necklace and diamond brooch were stunning. Her pink leather clutch was designed by Bottega Veneta.
      

Dan Goes to Little Rock

Dan has been accepted to show at M2 Gallery in Little Rock, Arkansas. My sister Deb told us about this interesting Gallery in Little Rock. We enjoyed touring the gallery and fell in love with the art of Tim West a 74 year old artist from Arkansas. M2 shows local, regional, national, and international artists. We are happy and proud to be working with M2 Gallery.

Albert Nobbs

                 

I loved this film. Albert Nobbs was played by Glenn Close and it is an Oscar worthy performance. Glenn played 'Albert Nobbs ' on stage in NYC 30 years ago. This is the story of a woman passing as a man in order to work and survive in 19th century Ireland. Albert Nobbs teaches us about life and companionship. Mia Wasikowska plays Helen, a maid who also becomes the object of Albert's wooing. Close is wearing a bowler hat which was a popular hat created in 1849. This type of hat was made for the working class during the Victorian era.  Two thumbs up.  I loved the story. Glenn Close co-produced and co-wrote the script.

The Descendants

                             
 This is from the creator of Sideways The Descendants is a story about Matt King played by George Clooney about an indifferent husband and father of two girls who is forced to re-examine his past and embrace his future. It had some of the same moments I felt in Sideways where things aren't quite happening yet they are about to. George Clooney is excellent. I was forgetting he is an actor playing Matt King. You have to prepare yourself for the touch of sad.

Her Palette is the Garden

Several years ago, my sister Anita painted some terra cotta pots and mounted them on a wooden lattice piece. It makes a great color addition to my little garden. I have had this a few years and there has been no fading to the pots. Anita is a garden artist. She is not afraid to create ideas for the garden.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentine's Day. Spend the day with the ones you love. The traditional gifts of love are flowers, confectionery, and the greeting card. Have a loving Feb 14.

What Side Of The Fence Are You On?

I am on the side of the fence of I LIKE IT. The good stuff was worth viewing and I must admit I LOVED PHOTOGRAPHING IT. Art in the Streets ran until August 8  2011. This was the first major US Museum survey of graffiti and street art. The show included street art from the 1970s to today including NY, LA, SF, LONDON, and SAO PAULO.  I was happy the MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) made such a gutsy move to show this art. Thank-you MOCA. This is where I went on my 23rd wedding anniversary. Have you ever seen the stalls looking so awesome?

To Be Lucky

This is Lucky my sister Anita's fox terrier. He continues to plop his butt into his nephew Toby's toy area. You gotta love animals. They have ways to reach humans beyond our wildest imaginations. I have seen miracles with animals brought into the care facility where I work. If animals have empathy, then they have the ability to change our DNA structure. To be Lucky is truly a blessing.

I ended up with the Loeffler Randall black flat which by the way looks great with jeans and the best thing about them is I got 75% off at Barneys. Scoring on sale shoes. Slide Film

I found some old slides and had Specialty Color Services make 4 x 6 prints of them.  I was delighted to see the results. There is something clear and crisp about shooting slides. These days I am happy shooting print film.  Print film has improved.  Yes, dinosaurs are still alive.
