Today is a special day to honor all Americans who have died while in the military service. It is a day to remember those brave souls and to officially mark the start of summer vacation.
This blog is about linking the viewer to fashion, beauty, photography, and art. It is for all to be enjoyed.

Chaos to Couture
I wish we were in NYC. Dan and I would definitely be at the PUNK: CHAOS TO COUTURE held at the Met. This show examines punk's impact on high fashion. I cannot stop staring at the NY Time's photos of Johnny Rotten, and Sid Vicious of the British Band the Sex Pistols. Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren were the band's stylists. I would love to see some of those torn, safety pinned jackets from the 70s. Now this is fashion. The show at the Met is currently running from May 9-Aug 14.

1984 Hasselblad
I love shooting with my 1984 Hasselblad film camera. I was sad to hear that Hasselblad stopped production of the V system camera. The H5D digital is only $29,000.00. I think I will keep shooting film. I love photographing siblings with this medium format camera.

The Beauty of Lentils
I love lentils. I have used the Tassajara Cookbook for many recipes. One of my favorite recipes is the Lentil Tomato Mint soup. You can eat lentils with brown rice or in a salad or as a soup. They are filling and yummy. I serve them over brown rice with cheddar cheese. I had to go to the store to buy fresh mint. The memory took me back to my Italian Grandmother Justine. My grandmother used to grow mint in her back yard in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. Good memories. I come from great cooks. Lentils have great fiber and are considered a less bloating legume. I am all for that.

Connie's Creations
Connie Legaspi is an amazing craftswoman. She is a CNA I work with at Arroyo Grande Care Center. Her latest creations are these beautiful hair pins. She comes to work with these stunning creations placed ever so carefully in her long beautiful black hair. She can do anything. She is a wonderful caregiver. She sings like an angel in her church choir. She knits, crochets, and does cross stitch. She is amazing.
