This is one of Dan's recent larger Works on Paper. He has been sending smaller works on paper to M2 Gallery in Little Rock, Arkansas. I love the larger pieces. Dan's art enjoys being large. I love the larger ones.
This blog is about linking the viewer to fashion, beauty, photography, and art. It is for all to be enjoyed.

Breakfast All Day
We have a new favorite place. lil' Bits Cafe at 151 N 7th St. #1 in Grover Beach. The Old Popeye with bacon, spinach, and mushrooms scrambled together on a pile of home fries topped with jack cheese and to die for salsa on the side. The owners are cool. The waitress Kristina is a sweetie. The place is open for breakfast and lunch. The Christmas coffee mug is a keeper.

L'Ombre dans L'Eau
I have a new favorite roll on perfume oil. It is L'Ombre dans L'Eau by Diptyque. It has roses and blackcurrant. I find it sharp in a refreshing way. Madeline Thies and Jeanette Gutierrez know how to help customers. They work in the Union Square Diptyque Store in SF. I shopped at Neiman and Saks and ended my spree at Diptyque. This is the kind of store you walk in and wonder why you want to go anywhere else. The decor, smells, and help, made my day.

Dior Fahrenheit
Dan is in deep in colognes. He has a new hobby and is really into it. He discovered Dior Fahrenheit at Sephora. Amber, at Sephora, in San Luis Obispo, has helped him locate his perfume picks. Dior Fahrenheit is a classic with citrus, spearmint and vetiver. I approve.

Donna Wilson's Picnic
Donna Wilson is an amazing textile designer that I admire. Her creatures are intriguing. They are hand crafted to leave something for our imaginations. Brick House Goods in SLO carries some of her creatures. We own Ted and he is a great addition to the Holland Household.

The Magnificent Chicken
Tamara Staples shot these portraits of the fairest fowl for the book The Magnificent Chicken. The portraits show the beauty of these live works of art. Arroyo Grande Care Center has an Organic Farm with beautiful chickens. Maybe I need to set up the medium format camera to capture these beautiful chickens for some fine art portraiture.

Frances Ha
Frances Ha
This is an art film. One of Noah Baumbach's best films shot in black and white. It is about a 27 year old modern dancer played by Greta Gerwig (who co wrote the script with Baumbach). She is trying to make it in NYC. Gerwig does an exceptional job of playing Frances who has a best friend Sophie played by Mickey Sumner (Sting's daughter). The best friends have an enduring, rich, and satisfying relationship that stands the time of boyfriends, trips, and address changes. It is a photographers dream to see the black and white shots. This is an art film that I will have in my collection.

Brick House Goods Art Opening
We went to the art group show at Brick House Goods in San Luis Obispo. It was a perfect Friday evening. Neal Breton put together a great show. The art is eclectic, modern, and affordable. We enjoyed some local ginger ale and mingled with art viewers and the artists themselves. There was a fashion truck outside of the event and it was awesome to walk into the front doors with bombardment of bright fashion tees and canvas tote bags displaying some interesting work. We fell in love with one of Neal Breton's paintings. We managed to roll funds around to buy it.

Fourth
Today is the Fourth of July. This was a photo shot with Portra 400S film for Hasselblad. I love everything about the Fourth of July. Summer. Hot dogs, potato salad, 3 bean salad, watermelon, and fireworks. Happy Independence Day.

Kelly I Fashion
Kelly has a wonderful fashion sense. She really knows how to put an outfit together. She exemplifies what summer is all about. White crops, ballet flats, white tank, and a versatile reversible costume jewelry piece. The necklace has an interesting bling side.

dottySpeck Jewelry
I discovered Kim Williamson's dottyspeck jewelry at Brick House Goods in San Luis Obispo. Her jewelry is great. I bought one of her pieces with a birthday gift card and then ordered one of the oxidized silver rainbow necklaces from her online store. Her silver work is flawless, light on the body, and is a pure and simple delight.
