AGCC Farm

The Arroyo Grande Care Center Farm invited city officials to the center on Friday April 25. The staff and patients sported their farm shirts. The City of Arroyo Grande Officials were visiting the farm and viewing a video of what the AGCC Farm is all about. The patients at AGCC grow their own produce from wheel chair accessible planters. The produce is given to local seniors in need at the local farmers market. Kudos to Tammy our dietary manager for creating this unique pig watermelon display. I love kitchen art.

Jo has an Eye for the Central Coast

My dear friend  Jo Genito has an amazing eye for photography. She lives in Los Osos, Ca. and a short walk from her home, takes her to the outstanding beauty of  picturesque Morro Bay.  She was born with a gift for those outdoor shots. I love her point of view. Her photos speak to me.

Finding Vivian Maier

I found out about the work of photographer Vivian Maier from my friend Shawn. Today we saw the documentary about her life. Vivian Maier was a mysterious nanny who secretly took over 100,000 photographs that went unsceen during her lifetime. Historian John Maloof bought her work at an auction hoping to find out parts of history. The rest of the story unfolds in this riveting documentary of Vivian Maier. Her black and white shots of the city, children, and still life made me cry.

Meredith Monk: Inner Voice

Meredith Monk is an amazing artist. Dan and I loved this film. Meredith Monk: Inner Voice is a documentary about Monk's process. She has an impressive 40 year career in composing, singing, dancing, film-making, and directing.  This film attend to her powerful vocals and wonderful choreography. Art lovers must rent this one.

Love the work of Anuschka Blommers and Niels Schuman. They are both from the Netherlands and have been working as a team in fashion, portrait, and still life photography.

Point of View

I shot this photo of Dan and I was obsessing on the neon to his right. I went back and used it as a foreground and the end result was a gift.

Moth and Dagger

Moth and Dagger  is a tattoo studio at 610 Bush St.  I was taken with their interesting sign and photos of people with tattoos underneath the sign. The window is captivating.

Palm Reading Shop SF

Love SF.  I love to load up the Hassey with Portra 120 and shoot shop windows. I was drawn to this Psychic shop. The neon and windows are striking. Overcast really deepens the purples and reds.

Nara's Pup Cup

                                                    

I have a new toy. Yoshitomo Nara's pup cup. It aint cheap. It whirls, twirls, and spins. It takes 2 AA batteries. It reminds me of the days of  childhood vacations at Wildwood, NJ.  My Plastic Heart  sells them.
I am saving for the Little Wanderer.
