Dan and I just returned from one of the best art shows ever, "Art in the Streets" at the Geffen Contemporary part of the MOCA in downtown LA. The curious street art appreciators lined up for blocks to get in and we went back to the show a second day to take in the unbelievable talent. The show had graffiti styles emerging from American housing projects, subway yards, and bleak suburban parking lots. This was the first major historical exhibition of graffiti and street art to be organized by an American museum that surveyed the history of the movement in the US and traces its spread around the world. The visual language of the show was unforgettable and to see it at this scale was well worth the trip to LA. My Leica D-Lux 3 point and shoot camera was vital in photographing this event.
This blog is about linking the viewer to fashion, beauty, photography, and art. It is for all to be enjoyed.
