Dan's Number 2 Pick

Dan really dug Futura's stuff and I did too. He is known as the abstract graffiti artist and his work shows his famous style. Leonard McGurr began to write the name FUTURA in his Upper West Side Neighborhood in the late 1971, the year the graffiti movement exploded in NY. In 1980 he helped organize the Esses Studio Project which brought many notable subway writers indoors to paint canvases for the first time. One of his most famous whole cars BREAK is known for its abstract quality and letter forms. In the early 1980s he partnered with the punk group CLASH, recording a single and touring with the band and painting their backdrops. He has been one of the most widely distributed artists in the graffiti art scene. He has worked closely with Nike, clothing companies and toy companies. No doubt, an artist with imagination, Futura.
